Upon conclusion of her residency with Rudi Giot, Lucille Calmel, & MARC
(Limsi-cnrs), Pascale Barret will present a new "work in progress" version of
her project Beautiful Beasts initiated at iMAL during the Arts/Science research
project VIRAGE. During this presentation, the public will be able to test the
mechanism and ergonomy of interaction with the performers by creating different
possible scenarios.

En clôture de sa résidence avec Rudi Giot, Lucille Calmel, & MARC
(Limsi-cnrs), Pascale Barret présentera une nouvelle version "en cours de
développement" de son projet Beautiful Beasts initié à iMAL lors du projet de
recherche Art&Sciences VIRAGE. Lors de cette présentation, le public pourra
éprouver le dispositif et l’ergonomie d'interaction avec les performeurs en
créant différents scenarii possibles.

(Limsi-cnrs) zal Pascale Barret een nieuwe work-in-progressversie tonen van haar
project Beautiful Beasts. Dit project ging van start bij iMAL tijdens het
Arts/Science-onderzoeksproject VIRAGE. Tijdens deze presentatie zal het publiek
het dispositief en de ergonomische interactie kunnen uittesten met de performers
door het creëren van verschillende mogelijke scenario’s.

openLAB Masterclass with Marius Watz

This openLAB is the first masterclass on Digital Fabrication in Brussels. With
an emphasis on forms generated by code, it will culminate with an exhibition
featuring the participants' works.
Together, they will explore how dynamic
software processes can be combined with digital fabrication to produce physical
objects, using 3D Printers (Makerbots), a laser cutter machine and a CNC milling
machine. Their freshly made projects will be exhibited at the end of the lab.
The openLAB will be lead by Norwegian artist Marius Watz.

Cet openLAB est la première masterclass sur la Fabrication Numérique à
Bruxelles. En mettant l'accent sur les formes générées par le code, elle se
clôturera par une exposition des oeuvres conçues par les participants.
Ensemble, ils explorerons comment des processus logiciels dynamiques peuvent
être combinés à la fabrication numérique afin de produire des objets physiques,
utilisant des imprimantes 3D (Makerbots), une découpeuse laser et une fraiseuse
numérique. Leurs tout nouveaux projets seront exposés à la fin du lab.
Cet
openLAB est mené par l'artiste norvégien Marius Watz.

Deze openLAB is de eerste masterclass over digitale fabricatie in Brussel. Deze
masterclass, die de nadruk legt op vormen die door code gegenereerd zijn, zal
uitmonden in een tentoonstelling met werken van de deelnemers.
Samen zullen
ze onderzoeken hoe dynamische softwareprocessen gecombineerd kunnen worden met

Smart architecture is the future. This is what demonstrate Elise Elsacker and
Yannick Bontinckx with their Kinetic Pavilion, a structure that can react to
wheater conditions, human interaction, social behavior and certainly much more.
During its exhibition at iMAL, you will have the opportunity to test and play
with the small scale model of this Kinetic Pavilion, exploring its potential for
the future.

L'architecture intelligente est le futur. C'est ce que démontrent Elise
Elsacker et Yannick Bontinckx avec leur Kinetic Pavilion, une structure qui peut
réagir aux conditions climatiques, aux mouvements des personnes, aux médias
sociaux et certainement bien plus encore. Pendant son exposition à iMAL, vous
aurez l'opportunité de tester et jouer avec la maquette du Kinetic Pavilion afin
d'explorer son potentiel pour le futur.

Slimme architectuur is de toekomst. Elise Elsacker en Yannick Bontinckx tonen
dit aan met hun Kinetic Pavilion, een constructie die reageert op
weersomstandigheden, menselijke interactie, sociaal gedrag en ongetwijfeld nog
veel meer. Tijdens de tentoonstelling bij iMAL krijg je de kans om het
schaalmodel van het Kinetic Pavilion spelenderwijs uit te testen en om de
toekomstige mogelijkheden ervan te verkennen.
